A New Cyclist in the Family...

After my birthday, we had a great rest of the week. It has been wonderful having Robert back on a normal working schedule and he was off work on Friday. I am continuing to train for the half marathon and teaching classes. Friday night our friends Katie and Alex came over for dinner and to watch The Blind Side on bluray. I made pizza and Katie brought over a Carmel Apple Cake they were both delicious!

Saturday morning we relaxed and then decided to head to Yongsan to pick up a stamp we had bought a while back, do some grocery shopping, pick up some items at the PX, and take Mia to the dog park. We went and ate at the same Thai restaurant that we ate at a couple of weeks back with Becky, Katie, and Alex. Again, the food was wonderful! It was a bit of a bummer that the weather was not so great! It was cloudy, overcast, but luckily, it was not to cold. Then we went to the PX and bought Mia her big dog bed (her kennel) and some new toys! Afterwards we met our friends Stacey and her family with their two beagles out at the dog park. When we arrived, there was another beagle already there. He and Mia ran and ran and ran! Then Toby and Willy, Stacey's two beagles, got there and they all four ran and ran and played some more! It was funny watching Mia run around with three other dogs that were each about two to three times bigger than her but it did not faze her! I wish I had had the video camera with us! Needless to say, she slept the whole way back home and slept through the night last night! We had a great time getting out.

Today, Sunday, the sun was shining and the high for the day was supposed to get up to 54 degrees. We decided that we wanted to get out for our first bike ride of the season. We ran to the PX and picked up a couple of more things we needed and happened to find Robert a pair of riding shorts. We loaded up the bikes on the car and headed to the river trail. Luckily Robert caught on quickly with getting his shoes clipped into his pedals. We had to adjust his bike and then we were off! We ended up riding about ten miles and we had a blast! Just like my father, Robert was unable to go out for a leisurely ride but it is okay! He loved riding and really loves his bike so now he is in the family of cyclists. Cyclists in the family include my dad, aunt and uncle Dru and Beau, my cousin Grant, me, and now Robert! So now, we wait until we have nice weather again. It was a little cool with the wind and I cannot wait until my new cycling knickers arrive! The weather here is little to cool for shorts and just not warm enough for shorts! Robert did not mind the cool weather regardless we had a great time! Now it is time to wind down from the weekend and prepare for the upcoming week! I have included some pictures from walking with my friend Katie and Bruiser, our bike ride, and a of course a few of our furry baby! I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
