Springtime In Korea...

I cannot express how wonderful it has been to finally see the sun on a more regular basis. During the winter, days would go by and all we could see were clouds and haze. These days we will get about 4 to 6 days of sun and then it will rain and be cloudy for a couple of days and then the sun will come out again. The temperature is finally staying around the mid seventies during the day and forties to fifties in the evening. There have been several days that I have been able to open all the windows in out apartment and we get a wonderful breeze through the apartment. I am sure it helps that we are on the fifteenth floor. Mia has enjoyed running around to each of the windows and checking out the scenery too and we have been able to enjoy some nice walks out doors!

The weekend before last, we were invited to go hiking with some friends. We had wanted to go hike the mountain that is near us called Mt Soyosan. All I have to say is that it was a serious mountain and nothing like hiking in the states. There were good portions of the hike that were almost straight up! It took us about 4.5 hours and it was a lot of fun! We were able to look out over where we live and we could even see our apartment complex! This month there are several big celebrations with one being Buddha’s Birthday so there are beautiful lanterns everywhere. We will probably hike the mountain again. Overall, it was a great day to enjoy the outdoors, spend time with friends, and take in some Korean culture.

One Sunday we took Mia about to the track stadium that we have here and threw the Frisbee for her! She loves to get out and run! We try to take her out somewhere and let her run off her leash at least once a week now that the weather is getting better.

I have included some pictures that I took around our courtyard here at the apartment complex. The azaleas are beautiful and their colors are brilliant! One night we were cooking dinner in the kitchen and I glanced out the window and noticed a beautiful sunset. Now it does not come close to compare to Texas sunsets but it was beautiful and it was a perfectly clear sunset at that!
