Rafting and a Baseball Game...

Summer is in full swing and I feel like we are always running around doing stuff or going places. It has been wonderful to stay busy but at the same time, it is always nice to relax at home. Luckily, Robert has had a couple of 3 and 4 day weekends lately so we have been able to go do stuff and still have a couple of days to relax. Even I have been very busy during the week with teaching more and more classes. I am up to 2 to 3 spin classes a week, abs class twice a week, a lower body conditioning class on Mondays, and my stroller fit class on Fridays. Then to add to that I am really focusing on getting into even better shape and eating healthy so I am very excited about this challenge. The weather here has been hot and humid. When we walk outside we start sweating and to add to it the air conditioning is expensive to run all the time so I always look forward to Robert coming home from work so we can turn the A/C on for a few hours in the evening.

The weekend of 24 July, we had signed up to go on a river rafting trip. Since we are in the middle of monsoon season it was pouring rain that morning when woke up. It took about an hour for us to get there on a bus and in typical monsoon fashion, it is still pouring down rain when we get there so we have to stand outside in the rain to get all of our instructions for the trip. There were eight of us in a raft and the rapids were not that big yet it was still fun to get out and do something with friends. In addition, all of the Korean tour guides were funny and fun to visit with. Luckily, my friend Becky was brave enough to bring her camera so all of the pictures are from her but they turned out a little hazy because the camera was in a plastic bag. You can still get the idea of our trip! Thanks Becky!

Last weekend we took it easy and hung out around the apartment. This Friday, Robert had another long weekend and our friends Tori and Jason invited us to go see a Korean baseball game with them in Seoul. They were already in Seoul celebrating Jason’s birthday so Friday after lunch we got on a train and headed to Yongsan to meet up with them. While we were there, I had to make a Starbucks stop and then we all got on the train together to head to the baseball stadium. The stadium was located near the Olympic Stadium, which was neat to see from a distance. We had a great time and we all got baseball jerseys of the various teams in Korea. The Koreans really get into their baseball games! They have chants and cheers that everyone does while the cheerleaders are leading them! The cheerleaders change outfits just about every inning. Robert's favorite part was a guy with the beer keg backpack that you could buy a beer from and he would dispense it right then and there. Then there was a woman that walked around with a basket on her head carrying beers and Korean snacks. Who knows what we will do next weekend but it is going to be a busy week! I hope everyone is doing well! Enjoy the pictures!
