A Little Traveling and Hanging Out...

The days of summer flew by and now the kiddos here are back in school! Where has the time gone? We are in the process of planning a trip home so we are getting very excited to see family and friends! We have not nailed down the dates as of yet but it is looking like we should be there sometime end of Oct beginning of Nov. We will hit Midland, Lawton, Tulsa, and Dallas while we are back. Once we know more we will try to plan to meet up with everyone! We have been staying busy here lately! I feel like for the past few weekends we have had something every weekend and have not been able to relax much.

About two weekends ago, I went with a couple of girlfriends to Insadong, which is about an hour ride on the train. Of course, we had to make a stop at Starbucks and then we spent the remainder of the day enjoying a quaint shopping area that consisted of unique stores that mostly sold high quality hand-made goods that were unique and very cute! We ate a nice lunch at a Korean Restaurant on the rooftop of the shopping center we were enjoying. When we got home, Robert and the other husbands had made dinner while babysitting. One of the guys that Robert works with, his family just joined him here recently so we have been hanging out with them some here lately. A week or so later our friends were celebrating their anniversary so we offered to watch their two kids for them so they could go out and enjoy a day in Seoul. We had a great time and their son insisted on sitting in Mia's crate with her! They have a blast with Mia and Mia is very well behaved around them. She has figured out that they eat at her level and if she follows them around it is likely that she will end up with some food! The first time Mia met them she did not realize that she could push them over so that did not go over so well but she has gotten a lot better. She will not jump on them anymore!

We have had a few nice days so Robert and I have been able to go out for a couple of rides on his new motorcycle. I have been spending a lot of time on my bicycle trying to get ready for the team triathlon coming up on 11 Sept. All the rain this week has limited the amount I have been able to ride. I hope that I can get a long ride in this weekend. Here recently I have been trying to work on getting Mia comfortable with her crate, since next year she will have to spend 24+ hours in it when we fly home. I used to have it sitting out on our patio but I moved in inside and one day when I was cleaning I just happened to set a blanket on top of it and well instead of sleeping inside the crate Mia likes to sleep on top of it! It is her new little perch! She loves to climb on anything and everything! She is getting better about being in her crate.

This past Saturday we took a trip to Myeong-dong. Robert had never been and my friend Tori wanted to do a little shopping for her birthday, which was Monday. Of course by the time we get there it is time for lunch and Robert is getting crabby so we decided to go to Seoul Station and eat at the Bennigan’s there, which might I add was AMAZING! As much as I love Korean food, it was nice to eat something similar to American food. It rained a little on us but nothing to devastating. On Sunday, we had about twelve of our friends over for dinner and to hang out since everyone was off on Monday and Tuesday. Robert made his jalapeño stingers, I cooked and oven lasagna, French bread, we made a salad, and had a banana soufflé with vanilla ice cream and blueberry pie! It was all delicious and we had a great time hanging out with everyone. We ended up getting a rather competitive game of monopoly going which finally ended in a tie after a few hours. On Monday, it was my friend Tori's birthday so we celebrated with a Baskin Robbins birthday cake, which again was AMAZING as usual! Robert was off work on Monday and Tuesday and is off again Monday and Tuesday this week. This weekend we hope to get to do a little relaxing and then I have a trip to Seoul planned for us on Monday and Tuesday so that should be fun and I hope to get some good pictures!

So there is a quick rundown of everything that has been going on! A typhoon named Kompasu passed over Korea early this morning bringing lots of rain and wind. Luckily, we never lost electricity and we slept though most of it. As a result, Robert got off for half a day, which was nice. I had better get dinner started since Robert will be home from work soon! I hope that everyone is doing well and enjoying the blog. We miss you all!
