Wine Tasting and a Belated Birthday Celebration...

This past weekend we had a Wine Tasting to go to in Yongsan at the Dragon Hill Lodge, which is the lodging accommodation on Yongsan Base. I had bought our tickets on Wednesday when we were there for Mia's surgery but I had tried to make hotel reservations and they were already booked. This posed a couple of problems a.) Where to stay overnight on Saturday b.) What to do with Mia since she had just had surgery and most hotels around here do not accept dogs. If we had been able to get a room at the Dragon, Mia would not have been an issue, since they allow dogs. Due to a hectic remainder of the week, Robert and I were not able to discuss this issue until Friday evening! After many disheartening calls to other hotels, we finally found one but the price of the room was a little more than we were interested in paying. Yet, one of Robert's friends Jason also needed a place to stay and was willing to pay a portion of the room so we booked it. Now what to do with Mia? Luckily, another one of Robert's friends Bobby agreed to hang out at the house and puppy/housesit for us. All problems solved in a relatively short amount of time! Earlier in the week, Katie and I had agreed that we were going to go down earlier than the guys and exchange our birthday gifts to each other. After 8AM workouts and getting cleaned up, we met up at the train station and headed to Iteawon. Of course, we decided to hang out at Starbucks while we opened presents. She gave me a super cute Starbucks mug and a SUPER SUPER cute Vera Bradley wristlet!! Luckily, the weather was beautiful so we walked around and then made our way to the Dragon Hill Lodge. This weekend there were also lots of other events taking place so we walked around and ended up catching the tail end of a Military Police working dog demonstration. The wine tasting was scheduled to start at 2 PM and the guys had not arrived yet but we had run into some other friends so we decided to get started with the wine tasting. Katie and I also had made an appointment for each of us to get our hair straightened at the salon in the Dragon for later in the evening prior to heading out to dinner. The guys all arrived with about an hour left to enjoy the wine tasting. Once it was over Robert, Jason headed to our hotel to check in, and Katie and I headed to get our hair straitened and get ready for dinner. We started with margaritas at a Mexican Restaurant in the Dragon, then we headed out for Thai food and ended the evening at another bar, and then we all went our separate ways.
