Surgery for Mia...

Last Saturday one of our friends Jake was flying home to be with his wife while she gave birth to their first son! Therefore, we got up early and drove him out to the Incheon International Airport (the same airport that Robert and I both flew into). I have included some pictures from our quick trip. When we got home, we rested and then about mid afternoon, we decided to take a little trip on the motorcycle to a biker bar and BBQ joint that was supposed to be near us. We had a general idea of where it was but we were not for sure, so we took off!! Of course, I forgot my camera but we hope to go back soon! The ride was beautiful, the building and people had so much character, and the food was great!!

Sunday was rather relaxing and then whoosh the week flew by!! I did get my stitches out on Tuesday but then I made the mistake of trying to run again on Thursday and felt a little pain and the cut did not look so great! Decided I had better not run again for a while! Argh! Not happy about that but patience! Mia had her surgery on Wednesday and it all went really well! My friend Katie and I had to get on the road about 6:30 AM in order for us to be able to drop Mia off by 8 AM, which made for an early morning! We walked around Yongsan, Itaewon, and made a run through the PX. While we were at the PX Food court, I noticed an ad for an individual selling a camera bag for $10 that would hold a DSLR camera. I contacted him, he met us, and I love my new camera bag!! I will try to get a picture of it soon and post it. Of course, we enjoyed some Starbucks as usual and for lunch, we had Greek food, which was delicious! About 3 PM, we went to pick up Mia. Okay, for any of you reading who have been subjected to Mia powerful vocal cords you will understand. The vet techs brought her out to me and before she reached me, she was kicking and screaming at the top of her lungs! Then they handed her over to me and she got mad that she was being moved around even more. She finally calmed down in my arms and she had her head resting on my shoulder until they forgot to put her cone on to keep her from licking the incision. They tried to put it around her head and she kicked and screamed some more and ended up nicking my lip and nose with her teeth. They then decided it would be better to take her to an exam room and she screamed some more! Again, they handed her to me, she was not sure what was going on, she ended up just out of my arms and over my shoulder, and she landed on the ground. I thought we were never going to get to leave. Once we got her calmed, down AGAIN they examined her incision AGAIN and finally we got everything settled up and we were on our way home! That night I ended up sleeping in the living room with Mia since she would not have been happy sleeping on the floor by herself. Mia is not spoiled I promise! Thursday morning she was up and perky! When Robert came home from work for lunch, she took off running to the door. She has been doing great and healing very quickly ever since! On Friday night, she had a moment that she needed some Mommy time and we cuddled all evening. We only have six more days of her wearing the cone, I cannot wait to take it off her, and I can only imagine how she feels. Poor puppy she runs into everything with it!
