April, May, and June...where is the time going?

I do not know where the past three months have gone but they have flown by!  Kind of hoping the same goes with the next six months or so.  Anyways, I am going to keep this short and sweet so that I can get to the best part, the pictures!

April:

I rode in the 30K bike race and took 3rd place in the women's category.  I went on a shopping trip to Osan with Tori and several teachers from work and it ended nicely with two car trunks full of goodies!  Robert and I ventured to Seoul and Insadong with Tori, Jason, and Staten to take part in some sightseeing and to see the cherry blossoms blooming.  Robert's unit had an Organizational day that ended with Robert severely spraining his ankle and ended up in the ER making sure he didn't break it.  That wrapped up April!  Very thankful that Robert didn’t break his ankle and was only on crutches for about a day or so.

May:

Since Robert was injured, I ventured out without him.  I went with Tori and Jason back to Insadong for a nice dinner and then on to meet up with some friends of mine from work.  They had arrived a little earlier to save us seats for the lantern parade.  We had front row seats and I must say that Koreans know how to do parades right!  There were at least six or more row of plastic chairs lining the whole parade route and we had front row seats for the show!  To top it off we all went home with a lantern and trying to get them from the parade participants was so much fun!  Next was field day at school and Robert came out to volunteer with the whole event that went off rather nicely.  We ended the month with a motorcycle poker run.  We all met on post at about 9:30 on a Saturday morning ran through all the details and we were off.  We ended up riding about 125 miles with the last half of it in the pouring rain.  We all ended up soaked!  We had a great time and I got to meet some new spouses!  There were about 12 motorcycles with a little fewer than 20 people.  The route we rode went all along the border of the DMZ.  I wish I would have been able to take more pictures but I was not going to get my nice camera out in the rain.  That wraps up May and on to June…

June:

So far the month of June has been filled with hanging out at the pool and picnics with friends.  Last weekend Robert and I decided we needed to go out for a nice dinner in Seoul.  We already had a hotel room booked (there is a story behind that but I am not going to go into it!) and I had an outfit that I wanted to wear so I wanted to go somewhere nice for dinner.  We decided it was the perfect time to go eat a Seoul Tower.  We made reservations and it was a date!

Seoul Tower was an amazing and the restaurant we went to was perfect for a date night.  The whole restaurant moves around the tower.  It takes an hour to make the full rotation so you get a nice view of the city and we were able to view the city at sunset!  Our table consisted of a loveseat type chair for two and a table.  Our mean consisted of 7 wonderful courses all of which I tried to get pictures of and the ones that are missing they were just too good and I forgot to take a picture before I at it.  Of course a meal like this had to have a bottle of wine to go with it!

It was a much-needed night away from home and a great date night!  This weekend it is back to Seoul with friends and later on this month we have a trip planned to the DMZ.  As of today we have 3.5 days of school left, not that anyone is counting!  It is going to be nice having a relaxed schedule this summer and we are working on planning a trip to Hong Kong.  Someone is also turning the big 3-0 this month so we will be celebrating that soon!  Last weekend while we were in Seoul he just happened to find a new motorcycle helmet that he really wanted so that was his early birthday present.  I haven’t been able to get pictures of it yet but I will.  The weather here has finally warmed up.  It is cool in the mornings and about in the upper 70’s to 80’s in the afternoons.  I had to break down and place an order for some summer clothing since somehow my shorts and capris never made it to Korea.  We have all the windows open all the time and I am dreading the day that we have to turn on our expensive A/C.  I was really hoping that we wouldn’t have to suffer through another summer here but no such luck!  Ready or not hear it comes!  We hope that everyone is doing well and hopefully now that school is almost out I might be able to update the blog a little more frequently.  Also, for all those Apple/Mac lovers out there we can officially say that we have made the transition and are an Apple/Mac Family!!  I am in heaven sitting here staring at my 27-inch monitor pure bliss…good night for now!  Enjoy the pictures!
